Who is Heavenly Father?

Who is Heavenly Father? Part 1. I feel like there is a lot of confusion inside and outside The Church about Heavenly Father, his nature, his work, and what we as Latter-Day Saints, Brigham-ites, Mormons, whatever you wanna classify us as, really believe in concerning “God”. I guess the first thing that is probably strange to a lot of people, is that we call God our, “Heavenly Father.” To the majority of the world he is usually stated as, “God the Father”, but we as Latter-Day Saints always refer to him as our Heavenly Father, The Literal Father of our Spirits. While it’s a respectful term used by us to avoid using the name-title, God, it holds some unique belief to The Latter-Day Saint Church. Our very first Article of Faith states that, “We believe in God, The Eternal Father...” 1 This statement alone shows that we do believe in God, That Heavenly Father is that God omnipotent. I think the first thing that really separates us as Mormons, is that we have a belief that a...

The Gospel of Jesus Christ

The Gospel of Jesus Christ In our last post we talked about who Jesus Christ is, and how he was his own separate  being, distinct from the Father. Today we will be talking more about the Ministry and Gospel of Jesus Christ, what it entails, and what it means to Latter-Day Saints. While this one will not go into the doctrine aspects of it, it will mainly be what we as Latter-Day Saints base our religion on. The foundation for the Latter-Day Saints is based of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which contains that Salvation can be obtained by having faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement, Repentance, Baptism, receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. 1 I, personally like to views these as being one connected chain, and I like to think of it like hopping on a train or a bus. When you start your journey to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ, (The Train), we get on at the very first stop which is Faith. Choosing to follow this path is our first fruits of faith th...

Jesus The Christ

Jesus The Christ. Hello everyone, our  topic is about the second member of the Godhead, The Savior and Redeemer of the world, Jesus Christ.  Again this topic will be broken into two separate post, and like Heavenly Father, we will be discussing the sacred nature of Jesus, and his work. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we believe that God the Father, his son: Jesus Christ, and The Holy Ghost, are separate individuals. 1 Many religions believe that they are one person in three separate embodiments, but we believe the Godhead, are three separate beings who are one in purpose. They share the same purpose; which is to bring about immortality and eternal life, which was discussed last time. Jesus Christ is the way to this, he is our medium and our advocate. It is through him that we obtain immortality and eternal life. So who is Jesus Christ? The life, ministry and atonement of Jesus Christ was prophesied by many prophets before he came ...

Who Is Heavenly Father Part. 2

Who Is Heavenly Father? Last week, I opened up this blog by starting to write about Heavenly Father, as I felt that many of us in this world, and even within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, are confused about who Heavenly Father is. In my last post, which was the first part of in this series of post, was based more on the Eternal nature of Heavenly Father, and why we call him our Heavenly Father. In this post I would like to focus more on his purpose, and his work, and how we can help and accomplish it. In the thirty-ninth verse, of the first chapter, in the Book of Moses, Heavenly Father claims, “...This is my work and my glory-to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” 1 . This statement clearly allows us to see that Heavenly Father wants us to gain immortality and eternal life; which we will go into for the majority of this post. You might be saying to yourself “ Well now, isn’t immortality and eternal life the same thing? Meaning life ever...
